Elumina Media and Sonic Union will present a live taping of Perreo 101 Season 2 at Tribeca Film Festival June 13th at 5pm ET. Host, Katelina ‘Gata’ Eccleston, will be in conversation with Cuban artists Yotuel and Beatriz Luengo to discuss their musical contributions, the social paradigms of the Cuban-based Reggaeton sub-genre, and their Grammy Award-winning song “Patria y Vida.”
Katelina ‘Gata’ Eccleston is the pioneering executive producer/host and historian behind the critically acclaimed platform Reggaeton Con La Gata, “whose pioneering work continues to accurately contextualize the colonial influence that has sought to suppress the founding roots and socio-political narratives that created Reggaeton,” as described by Harper’s Bazaar. As an executive producer and host of Panamanian-Jamaican descent, her work has appeared in BBC World Service, Rolling Stone, The LA Times, Telemundo, Univision, NYTimes Popcast, Huffington Post, Spotify, Apple, and so many more.
The #Perreo101Tour has had a continuously successful 4-semester run in Ivy League schools like Harvard, Dartmouth, and Princeton and in corporate rooms at major corporations such as Google, Giphy, Peloton, GAP, Old ReggaetonNavy, and Chegg, amongst many others. Perreo 101 is the podcast that is influencing History culture across the globe. Now in partnership with Sonic Union, it will be the Latin podcast live taping event at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival that you don’t want to miss! Perreo 101’s highly anticipated second season will debut at the behest of the live taping of the episode “Cubatón” featuring Cuban artists Yotuel and Beatriz Luengo, who will join music historian and host, Katelina ‘Gata’ Eccleston to explore their musical contributions, the social paradigms of the Cuban-based Reggaeton sub-genre, and their Grammy Award-winning song “Patria y Vida.”
