FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOS ANGELES, CA — Perreo 101, the groundbreaking podcast and cultural project that dives deep into the history and legacy of reggaetón, is back with a brand-new season, now available on all major platforms. Alongside the new episodes, the team is proud to announce the launch of its first online course, kicking off Monday, September 29th, with the Tego Calderón Syllabus.

This course is the latest extension of Perreo 101’s mission to amplify reggaetón’s roots and honor the voices often left out of its mainstream narrative. The Tego Calderón Syllabus celebrates the Blackness of reggaetón by exploring the artistry, politics, and cultural impact of one of the genre’s most iconic figures. Developed in collaboration with historians, creators, and students who have studied Perreo 101 in their academic classes, the syllabus bridges scholarship and fandom to create an interactive learning experience for all.

"Sinc 2018, Perreo 101 has always been about creating a living archive of reggaetón’s history, and this course is a natural extension of that work," said La gata, creator of Perreo 101. "We’re building a space where fans, students, and cultural workers alike can engage with reggaetón’s complexity and celebrate its roots."

The new season of Perreo 101 continues to explore the genre’s diasporic rhythms, histories, and social impact, while the course invites audiences to participate more directly in learning and dialogue.
